 Each year, Inc. Magazine recognizes the fastest growing private companies across the nation who collectively make a major impact on the U.S. economy. Within the past few years, the list was expanded to include 5,000 of those companies. Arcus has secured a spot in the national spotlight for its continued growth and achievements for three consecutive years in 2007, 2008 and 2009. In 2008, Arcus was also ranked #76 among HR companies nationwide.
Arcus made headlines in 2009 and was awarded Staffing Industry Analyst's 5th Best Staffing Firm to Work for in the United States. Arcus received this recognition through a combination of in-depth surveys about hiring practices, benefits and pay as well as a survey of all internal employees. Upon receiving word of this award, magazine editors interviewed and sought input from nearly a dozen employees on why they felt Arcus was deserving of this recognition. A company profile of Arcus was published in SI Review magazine's December 2009 issue. SI Review magazine provides coverage of the tools, techniques and best practices that staffing firm executives and owners need to successfully run their businesses in all areas of operation including management, sales, administration and technology.
The Arcus public service campaign, 3-part ad series, marketing campaign, company website, High Touch Program and corporate brochure were recognized with six awards by the American Staffing Association, of which we are a member. Each of these communications pieces were chosen because of strategic components like vision, originality, innovation, creativity and effectiveness (VOICE). Arcus received special recognition this year by receiving the "Crystal" award for communication, which honors the top campaigns and entries in the overall competition.
Arcus has been recognized by its employees as one of the 50 best places to work in the state for the past three consecutive years - each year earning a coveted spot within the top 10 ranking. Arcus ranked #6 in 2009, #3 in 2008 and #6 in 2007. Best Places to Work in PA is a statewide survey and awards program designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Pennsylvania, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. Arcus received this employee-generated recognition through a combination of evaluations regarding workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics, as well as in-depth surveys.
The Harrisburg Regional Chamber and Capital Region Economic Development offices awarded Arcus its most distinguished award, Small Business of the Year for our demonstration of staying power in the Central Pennsylvania region, workplace innovation, commitment to the community and our employees, and an overall realization of goals.
